10-year-old Amraa gets five little chickens to take care of, but one of them is ill. Her mom says it should be killed right away, the vet says it will die soon. Ariun decides to keep it as long as possible and give it a good life. When it finally dies, the mother throws it into the trash can, but Ariun insists on giving Sleepy, the chicken, a nice funeral.

Zaya grew up in the Mongolian mountains and is attending a new school now. She looks a bit different from the other children and wears her hair in the traditional way of her tribe. The teacher welcomes her in the class, makes the class clap for her and tells the pupils to welcome her – but that doesn’t help. They mock at her, pull her hair and shove her around.
